Glass Conference : A functional material for the future (Nancy, November 17th and 18th, 2006)
Organized by the Pole Verrier and Revelor, this conference will bring together researchers, educators, manufacturers, and architects. When describing glass as a functional material, the question of the "intelligence" of the material is also raised. There is of course the use of glass in the building and automotive industries where a glass surface is no longer simply a means of letting in natural light ; but, using thermochrome, photochrome, and electrochrome technologies, it can also serve other purposes like insulating, tinting and anti-glare.
While some of these products are already in use, especially in the automotive sector ; others, still in their research and development phases, will soon be on the market. By sharing testimony from glass researchers and professionals, the goal of this two day conference is to provide you with updates on the most recent developments in the field of glass.
