Jardin de Cristal

Thanks to its new French website www.jardindecristal.com, the Pôle Verrier goes on weaving its net.
This relevant 'jardin de cristal' is, of course, the Lorraine region, which stands up for ages for being recognized as the most emblematic region concerning glass and crystal.
Its history, its heritage, its renowned glassmakers, its luxury brands, its training center, everything contributes to justify Lorraine's place on the international scene.
This situation was well worth a site on which you can appreciate the evolutions over the course of the experts, researchers and academics that the Pôle brought together in order to succeed in this new challenge.

Have a nice visit!
The Pôle team

US - Tacoma - Museum of Glass : Lino is coming to the Hot shop!
Lino Tagliapietra is revered as the maestro of glassblowing and one of the key players of the early Studio Glass movement. It was Lino who came to the fledgling Pilchuck Glass School in 1979 and shared with American glassmakers his vast knowledge gained from years of work in the Murano glass community. This act began a chain reaction of shared knowledge that universally elevated the art and craft of glassmaking and changed the course of contemporary glass.
Don't miss your opportunity to see this master at work as Lino comes to the Museum Hot Shop for a Visiting Artist residency. October 24th - 28th, 2007.

DK - Ebeltoft - 'Kitchen dreams' by Ricky Bernstein
Ricky Bernstein's infectious humour and obvious narrative joy greet you from the moment you enter the exhibition space. On the walls, large scale 3-D installations in glass and aluminum display domestic dramas, which gently poke fun at the comic situations of everyday life with a clear reference to pop art and comic books. Bernstein's works are both satirical comments on modern life and loving depictions of the artist's childhood in America in the 1950's.
The exhibition can be viewed until 24th February 2008.
