Translucide : CERFAV's students' exhibition

Robert Held Art Glass has a position for a "Hot Glass Worker"
If you have had some experience in a large "hot shop" this might be the job for you. Robert Held Art Glass is Canada's largest glass-blowing studio. The work is "production based" and the job is full-time, 8 hr day.

Juan Lopez and Celina Re are working together for four years.
They have in common the art passion which takes part of their life. They had founded their own workshop studio known as Studiovetro, where they create jewels mostly based on glass.
By adding an important personal investment, they folow monographs classes in two foundations : one in Barcelona named "Fundacion Centre Vidre de Barcelona" and in other one named " Fundacion Centro Nacional del Vidrio de la Granja".
They used to show their collection during commercial demonstrations, expositions for public and sector professional people, and recently on their new website :

Dale Chihuly visited the Glass Furnace (Turkey)
Dale Chihuly, one of the world's leading glass artists and founders of Pilchuck Glass School visited The Glass Furnace on June 24, 2006. Dale Chihuly came together with Beykoz Mayor Muharrem Ergul and masters/artists and students of The Glass Furnace. He presented a slide show of his work and installations in all over the world to all guests.
Chihuly expressed his gratitude of being at The Glass Furnace and congratulated Yilmaz Yalcinkaya, founder of the Glass Furnace for establishing such a great glass school in Turkey.
Yilmaz is looking forward to working with him at The Glass Furnace in coming years.

Erwin Eisch exhibition
The pioneering artist Erwin Eisch is staging an exhibition at the Red House Glass Cone this summer.
One of the founders of the studio glass movement and a confirmed anglophile, Eisch will be showing three of his famous glass heads. These are a self-portrait, a head of Thomas S Buechner and his famous Picasso's Women piece.
The show from 19 August to 24 September will run in conjunction with the cone's own Love Contemporary Glass show which celebrates the work of the resident artists. This runs from 18 August to 15 September.
Both shows can be viewed between 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday, at the Red House Glass Cone, High Street, Wordsley. Entry is free and all pieces in Love Contemporary Glass are for sale. For more information call 01384 812750 or visit www.dudley.gov.uk/redhousecone

Liquid Fusion - glass design
Workshop and festival on glass art from 6 - 17 August 2006,
Domaine de Boisbuchet, 16500 Lessac/Confolens, France
In cooperation with the Vitra Design Museum and The Corning Museum of Glass, the Centre International de Recherche et d'Education Culturelle et Agricole (CIRECA) organises the ten day workshop "Liquid Fusion" on the subject of glass design. The course will be conducted by American designer Paul Haigh and leading staff members of The Corning Museum of Glass. On the occasion of this workshop, international glass artists will be invited to come to France and show their work at the "Festival de Confolens - Arts & traditions populaires du monde" (9 - 13 August 2006). On Saturday, 12 August 2006, a public event will take place at the Domaine de Boisbuchet, in the course of which The Corning Museum of Glass' team and the invited glass artists will introduce a variety of glassworking techniques.

ARTSingapore 2006
Gerry King from Adelaide, Australia has been selected as the feature artist at
ARTSingapore 2006. The event is held during September and October. He will present a retrospective exhibition of his 30 years in contemporary glass.
While in Singapore Gerry will present illustrated lectures on his work. The exhibition and lectures are sponsored by ARTSingapore and other corporations. The exhibition will be managed by Gaffer Studio Glass Gallery, Hong Kong and is supported by Austrade.

Exhibition Folon in staind glass
This exhibition presents the major stained glass windows created by Jean-Michel Folon (1934-2005) throught preliminary designs, original full-scale patterns, the windows themselves, films and photographs.

Re-crafting tradition
Exhibition reuniting more than 30 artists in fine contemporary craft.
